Why Running?
A common refrain is "that you can't fight city hall". Or in our case "borough hall". Regardless, I believe that the role of local government is to provide basic services and be responsive to its citizens. This has not been experience for many of our neighbors. That is why I am running because others have felt the same way. Here are some other reasons:
Communication - For the past several years I have publicly commented at borough council about the need to update and modernize the borough website. Finally years later that is now in process. Additionally, other boroughs broadcast their meetings live online or provide a video recording of their meetings shortly thereafter. I've brought this up as well and we still don't.
Transparency - This relates closely to Communication. There were several important issues voted on in 2020 where residents had limited access to provide input nor see what topics were discussed and later approved. This included the infamous Earned Income Tax.
Quality of Life - We have clean streets and a visible police presence. However, several neighbors have complained about permits/inspections, lack of prorated parking fees, and other quality of life issues.
